Founding of the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture (Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture), Académie Royale de Musique (Royal Academy of Music) and Académie Royale de d’Architecture (Royal Academy of Architecture). .
The Académie de Peinture et de Sculpture was created by Cardinal Mazarin in 1648, the Académie de Musique and the Académie d’Architecture were founded in 1669 and 1671, respectively. These three institutions are today combined within the Académie des Beaux-Arts which includes artists and patrons divided into nine sections. The most recent sections include; Cinema and Audiovisual, created in 1985; Photography, created in 2007; and Choreography, inaugurated in 2019.
